 Mr. Johnson became licensed to practice law in the State of Texas in 1999.  Mr. Johnson is also admitted to practice before the Northern, Eastern, & Southern Federal District Courts in Texas.

 
Professional Background

Mr. Johnson is currently the sole practitioner of the Genator Johnson Law Firm and manages every aspect of the law practice of the firm.  His practice areas include Criminal Defense, Child Adoption, Family Law, General Civil Litigation, Guardianship, Wills, and Chapter 7 Bankruptcy.  From 2003 to January of 2008, Mr. Johnson was a Founding Partner and Managing Partner of the Dallas office of Fleming & Johnson, P.L.L.C.  In December of 2007, the Dallas Office of Fleming & Johnson, P.L.L.C. became The Genator Johnson Law Firm.  From 2001 to 2003, Mr. Johnson practiced with Brown McCarroll, L.L.P. where he concentrated in the areas of asbestos products liability defense, general products liability defense, and general litigation.  From 2000 to 2001, Mr. Johnson worked as an associate at Cordray, Goodrich & Miltenberger where he practiced in the areas of products liability defense, general litigation and contracts.  From 1999 to 2000, Mr. Johnson was an associate at Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue, L.L.P. where he practiced in the areas of corporate law, intellectual property litigation, and general litigation.  
 

Educational Background

Mr. Johnson received his law degree from Southern Methodist University in 1999 where he received many advocacy awards, including the Champion and Best Oral Advocate in the 1998 Carmodys Trial Competition, Champion in the Fall 1997 Vial, Hamilton, Koch & Knox Mock Trial Competition, Best Brief Nominee in the 1997 Fall Advanced Appellate Advocacy Competition, and the Excellence in Advocacy Award in 1997-1998 and 1998-1999.

Mr. Johnson attended Duke University and graduated with a B.A. in Economics in 1996.  While at Duke, Mr. Johnson walked on to the Duke Football team and also wrote an opinion column for the school paper, The Chronicle.


Family & Community Interests

Mr. Johnson is married and has one daughter.  He attends Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship.  He is a member of the Dallas Bar Association and the JL Turner Legal Association.
